visitwebsitesmallNew Mood is a self proclaimed “serotonin-booster” that will turn that frown (you guessed it) upside down in a safe and natural manner.

There are many of us who suffer from depression, bad days, or just times in our lives where we don’t feel as happy as we used to. New Mood attempts to keep us happy, calm, and relieve stress through increased serotonin production.

Does it live up to it’s name. Did it put me in a “new mood”? Let’s take a look at how New Mood operates in this comprehensive review.

How does New Mood work?

New Mood uses the two substances that are responsible for producing serotonin in the body: L-tryptophan and 5-HTP. In addition Vitamin B6 is also included to act as a catalyst, causing your body to kick into serotonin production mode. There are a host of other ingredients included, but this is the basic concept of how New Mood works.

So let’s break down each ingredient individually, I’ll also include any data related to studies done on the effectiveness of these ingredients.

Ingredients

1. 5-HTP

This chemical is a byproduct of the essential amino acid tryptophan (the stuff in turkey that makes you sleepy). This compound is what converts into serotonin in the body, which will end up giving you that nice, relaxed feeling that you’re looking for. 5-HTP has been prescribed to treat depression, migraines, and even fibromyalgia (chronic pain) due to serotonin’s positive effects on the brain. [1]

2. L-Tryptophan

Like I just said, this is the essential amino acid that is most famously found in turkey (and is responsible for post-Thanksgiving naps). This helps with serotonin production by converting into 5-HTP. [2]

Why include 5-HTP and L-Tryptophan if L-Tryptophan is just going to convert into MORE 5-HTP? Because the 5-HTP will be processed by your body, converted, and wear off. This is where the L-Tryptophan picks up the slack by taking longer to convert to 5-HTP, then again into serotonin. Makes sense right? It essentially carries the same benefits of 5-HTP, but takes a little bit longer to be effective – which in turn makes New Mood last longer. [3]

3. Magnesium

Magnesium is renowned for its calming effect (as well as muscular hydration). This mineral has been used to treat stress and supplements the benefits of increased serotonin production. [4]

4. Vitamin B-6

This vitamin is crucial in causing serotonin production in the body. It doesn’t necessarily produce serotonin on its own, however it speeds up the conversion of 5-HTP into serotonin. Therefore, the positive effects of New Moon start quicker and last longer. [5]

5. Niacin

Tryptophan is tasked with producing both serotonin AND niacin in the body. If tryptophan has to split up between both duties, then it won’t produce as much serotonin (and you won’t get as much of a mood boost). Therefore, including niacin on its own will not only allow all of the tryptophan to convert into serotonin, but it causes increased bloodflow to the brain resulting in better absorption of the other supplements. [6]

6. Vitamin D-3

Research has shown that vitamin d-3 may be related to serotonin production in the brain. While there still needs to be more clinical research done to fully understands the positive effects of Vitamin d-3, it has been called the “sunlight vitamin” for good reason. People suffering from depression were exposed to vitamin d-3 and saw improved mood as a result. [7]

7. Chamomile

You want relaxation? YOU WANT CHAMOMILE!!! Sorry… I got a little excited there (maybe I should drink some chamomile tea). Research has shown (only in animals so far, human studies have yet to be conducted) that small doses of chamomile help anxiety while larger doses aid sleep and can eliminate the effects of insomnia. [8]

8. Valerian Root

While sounding like something from a fairy tale, there is limited research which suggests that valerian root can help with sleep disorders and depression. However, there still needs to be more research done in order to make any concrete, certain statements about its benefits. [9]

9. Lemon Balm

The University of Maryland Medical Center claims that lemon balm on its own (or used in conjunction with other supplements) can cause a calming effect. [10]

10. Jujube

This extract has been used for hundreds of years in traditional medicine. In addition to helping relieve stress, Iranian researchers claim that it may have anti-cancer properties. [11]

Lots of awesome ingredients… but do they work? Will New Mood improve my mood and help me sleep?

I started New Mood right before I went to bed and I had the deepest sleep of my life, bar none. I woke up super refreshed, energized, and ready to go. I’m a notoriously light sleeper and end up waking up several times during the night. The result is a cranky, tired version of myself headed to work every morning.

But New Mood changed that. I had an awesome night’s sleep every night during my 30-day trial and felt great the next day, all throughout the day. Honestly I wanted more after my trial was over as I returned to my typical, restless nights.

I slept like a baby… and I loved every second of it.

Now during the day I felt energized and completely calm. I am in a pretty stressful line of work (sales) and even on my longer work days, that can last up to 16 hours, I was ready to go and fresh the whole time. I face a LOT of rejection as a salesperson and all of that negativity just rolled off my back.

I can’t recommend this supplement enough.

Pros

- Extremely effective, I felt an immediate change in my mood and had the absolute best sleep of my life.

- High quality ingredients that (mostly) have research suggesting their effectiveness in serotonin production.

- 30-day money back guarantee, no questions asked

- Left me feeling fresh every morning, no grogginess to speak of.

Cons

- Serving size is a little large
